Sophisticated & Feminine new Brand for Nati Planning
Over Easter I had the pleasure of working with Annetta from Nati Planning, an Etsy store selling beautiful planners and organisational supplies. When Annetta approached me, she was struggling with trying to launch her business and hadn't put much thought into the brand she wanted to promote. When I explained my brand discovery process with her, Annetta was very keen to get started and explore the ins and outs of her brand identity.
In our analysis of her brand, we identified Annetta wanted to drive more traffic to her Etsy shop by appearing more professional and attractive to her target market. She also wanted to create a brand that would be memorable and recognisable.
The Pinterest inspiration board Annetta put together for her brand, had some pretty strong themes. It was feminine, but not in a girly, pink hearts and glitter way. It had a sophisticated feel. There was a lot of beautiful watercolours (most of them in blush pinks) and soft hues but one of the more surprising elements was the fashion illustrations. Annetta included a number of them in her board and I was drawn to the bold, thick black brush strokes combined with the soft watercolours. And finally, there was a love of octagons. It was a personal quirk of Annetta's and one I really hoped I could include in the final design.
I pulled the key elements out of the Pinterest board and created a new mood board for Nati Planning to work from.
I presented 4 logo options to Annetta, based on my analysis of her client homework. I tried to draw on different elements of her mood board to give her some options to choose from.
Annetta fell for the two Hexagon logos (Hexagons over Octogons as they're a little simpler on the eye from a design perspective) and eventually settled on Logo number 3 to finalise.
I then created Alternative logos that Annetta could use when the Primary logo didn't quite fit the space and submarks that can be used as watermarks on her product photos.
From here, I developed new business cards and hank you cards - both featuring one of the new custom patterns I designed, just for Nati Planning! (You can click these photos to see in more detail.)
Because Nati Planning's products are so pretty, I wanted her to have a way to showcase her own products in her Facebook cover. I created a branded overlay image that she could use to put over the top of her own product imagery. This way, she could change her Facebook cover every month, week, every day if she wanted to!
It was such a pleasure working with Annetta. Since the launch of the new Nati Planning, Annetta has reported doubling her Etsy sales in just 2 weeks!
